can't wait for the millions of conservatives using the ACA marketplace to realize it was Obamacare the entire time.

Honestly yeah, dems made a bad move here. just let them kill the ACA. most of the people impacted will be in red state.

It's the onus of the majority to negotiate terms to end a filibuster under reasonable concessions.
ALL Democrats want is ONE thing. A continuation of Obamacare subsidies to prevent the massive increase in healthcare premiums. At this point that has lapsed, people are getting their bill for their new premium, and it's sometimes over 1,200 dollars a month. Basically the same as the already unaffordable private insurances. Poor people cannot afford that.
The fact Trump wants to just vote to end the Filibuster without a negotiation by using Senate procedures is an ADMISSION by Republicans that they could've opened the government AT ANY TIME and refused to do so for political reasons.

I get that. But republicans are under no obligation to provide concessions to the democrats for that very reason. Democrats could vote to open the government today and negotiate changes to Obamacare funding and all the other things they want over the coming weeks. But they won’t because they feel this avenue is their only leverage.

The republicans won’t give them what they want, because they hold all the cards, so democrats shut down the government leaving millions without pay or benefits and somehow that’s the republicans fault? So democrats are using millions of people’s livelihood as leverage and you’re all ok with that. Open the government, negotiate terms later. If your position is the popular one, it will be evident come election time and republicans will be forced to bend. But doing it this way makes dems look like a bunch of desperate and weak Aholes.

yeah but the ACA marketplace needs to be funded NOW for premiums to not go up.
not march of 2027 when dems slaughter them in the midterms because 10% of conservative voters literally died

It’s still funded. Just not the pandemic era subsidies which were intended only for the short term anyway. Everyone’s premiums are rising, and a lot of that has to do with the ACA in the first place. The ACA was a bad bill from the get go and I hate to say, we told you so. But everyone knew it was going to become increasingly expensive. You can’t just keep increasing the pandemic subsidies so it stays affordable to a few, while everyone else eats the cost.

The whole bill needs to be repealed and replaced. But that’s another can of worms.
