What do you think of my first tat. Elther futhark Rune tattoo. Any of you inked or thinking about getting tats?

Dude... this tat is in Older Furthark and what is written means Brother-Self-Rebirth-Rebirth-Wealth.

It sounds really bad bro...

If anything you can say that the guy who made you this tattoo wanted you to become his brother not in this life but in another and he wishes you wealth on your journey.

This mark is kind of cursed bro.

If you make a little web search on it's meaning it is used on tombs of people that have been killed and buried by Skræling as a mean to taunt the spirit of the dead into remaining far away and never return.

What it means, if you translate those writings into something that has meaning it says this.

"Sorry we had different blood in our veins, wish things were different in another life in another world, may you find fortune in your new journey."

This was written on a tombstone was it not?

>the thing is nordic runes each of them can be interpreted in million different ways.
Like any other dead tongue. New meaning can be found in any words of every tongues but it doesn't change the facts... this is something that is found on tombstones not on somebody's arm.

If a real Viking would actually read this out of your arm he would look at you in a confused way and probably call you a sorcerer or a trickster and attack you.

It would take far too long to go in deep but just watch this video and you will get the gist of it.

I was a lot into Runes and Vikings not that long ago (I play too much DnD) and one thing I learned is the Rebirth rune when you put two of them side by side and one is reversed it means living dead and it was used as a warning that there were zombies or living skeletons to superstitious people of old times. This is where the stories of zombies and living skeletons first originated and it was used to scare Roman invaders. It was a cool trick with mixed results but it did work a little bit to scare the soldiers.

backstory:

so i wanted to get my first tat and thought i really like the ancient nordic viking religion and runes are hard to interpret in general but i will try spelling "warrior" in it since i like doing muay thai.

so i went to the tattoo studio and said tattoo these runes in a circle for me please. he said what does it mean? i said warrior. at least i tried to spell it but it doesnt matter because i love the rune tattoo. so anyhow he said "are you a warrior? i said yeah i do muay thai i survived some crazy shit i will just get this tattoo.

anyhow i had some hilarious conversations with him.

"how much is it gonna hurt?" he said "Meh not too much. youre gonna feel more pain doing muay thai. you will need to eat through a lot of pain during muay thai. and he was right.

my inspiration was sort of the fully tattooed baldur for god of war i told him. remember baldur from gow? he said

oh yeah that was one hell of a brawl or in german
"oh ja das war ne ordentliche schlägerei"

we laughed a lot during the session. i was offered coffee. great guy.
