the entire federal government is polling like shit right now. shutdowns are extremely unpopular, and both the majority and minority parties are too intractable to compromise. lefties would like to believe dems want to prevent the collapse of the american democratic system, but really they're clueless and disorganized and can't stop the coming republican elimination of checks and balances.
