Given it's using celeb likenesses, very easy to get libel and IP theft lawsuits for this type of thing. Especially since there are no clear markers of it being AI - so the plebs will fall for it.

It's "allowed" because everyone is playing fast and loose with AI to be competitive, and laws haven't been made to stop them yet. The deepfake shit IS getting people pissed, so eventually legislation will get made to make it explicitly illegal, not just quasi-illegal via unrelated laws.

The Disney lawsuit against AI will be a turning point. If AI gets assessed billions in damages, all these companies will panic and wall shit off. But if Disney loses... it's a free for all until laws get passed. Which take forever.
