Our consciousnesses are an emergent product of our bodies and until we somehow manage to transfer said consciousnesses into other bodies, you are correct in thinking that I won't agree with you.
Now if we managed to clone bodies out of the chromosomes of the person transitioning, with the addition of the chromosomes of their parents that are needed to make sure that the clone isn't just a parthenogenesis copy of either parent, but an actual product of the two of them and then transferred the consciousness of the person transitioning into that that body, that would be turning that person from male to female or vice versa.
That seems overly elaborate though, so I think that some sort of tech similar to CRISPR, that is based on taking the chromosomes needed from whichever parent you need an Y or X chromosome from, inserting that into some sort of nano sized chromosome editing device and then putting the person transitioning through a slow and methodical change of their chromosomes during a medical coma, while possibly being suspended in some form of artificial womb, is more likely than making a whole new body from scratch and inserting a consciousness into it.
For one it is hard to imagine how you would extract or download said consciousness and contain it outside of a biological body and then reversing that process into a wholly new biological body of the opposite sex without it dramatically changing.
The way we form distinct and unique personalities from each other while using virtually the same wetware alone, seems like an incredibly big hurdle to overcome when we're talking about extracting a consciousness.
Also who is to say that even if we managed to separate the consciousness from the body and transfer it to a new one, that the same gender dysphoric issue wouldn't repeat itself in the cloned body, because the consciousness is misaligned with the sensory system and creating that issue from the get go, no matter if the body is male or female?
