I often hear the statistic that about 50% of murders are unsolved. But with modern DNA forensics, license plate tracking, cell phone tracking, facial recognition in surveillance cameras etc. you need to be way more meticulous than just a few years ago.
They don't even need to have your DNA on file to make you a suspect with your DNA anymore. That is what got the Idaho university stabber caught.

They will lie to you and tell you they found your DNA at the scene to trick you into confessing. They will lie about anything they have to if it will trick you. I know a guy they denied sleep to and kept questioning him until he admitted to everything whether he did it or not.
They do not work for you. 99.9999% of the time, law enforcement does not work for you, only against you.
