And in so doing will conveniently hand the Democrats an easily verifiable talking point for the Midterms:
"We TRIED to look out for you, we TRIED to continue the health care credits you've depended on for the last decade, and the Republicans hate you so much and care so little about you that they were willing to shut down the government for 40 days to prevent it from happening. Then they "promised" a vote on the subject if we would only reopen the government, when all of us know full well any vote would be an immediate failure.
We tried to look out for everyone, including the poor on the Reich Wing. The GOP fought us every step of the way, and continue to do so. Because they don't care about anyone but themselves".
What's gonna be interesting is how the Republicans spin their complete & total opposition to Americans retaining moderately affordable health care. They just handed the Dems the midterms with this chicanery, they just don't know it yet.
Heard it said recently & it bears repeating: Trump & the Project 25 assholes are behaving like as if they don't think Democrats will EVER win another election ever again. Which is great. Because by doing so, they'll ensure that after 2028, we have at least 8 years of no Republicans anywhere near the levers of power again, barring SC(R)OTUS
