I've heard of people changing their name to '8' and similar stupid shit in certain US states and I have considered it. I thought it would be funny to change my name to a bunch of kanji in USA so when I go to japajn I can use the kanji in a jitsuin (legal signature stamp).
But even if I got it accepted, I'm pretty sure the federal government would let me write the gook letters on a passport, so that kind of ended that
