Spores are way more foolproof, reliable and cheaper but take an extra 4 days.
Most are around a month you will see definite pinning by then or be nearly done, that's why you start multiple bags. If there's no trich green mold after 2 weeks or so and you did everything right and see mycelium you should be good. Mushrooms are strange.
They need light airy soil with moisture like coco coir and some kind of sterilized manure, but you cannot soak them in too much water because they will start going funky. it has to have moisture in the chamber and soil but not soaked.
The smell should be like portebello mushrooms but less earthy almost. If you smell anything sour, bad smelling its bad.
