Unfortunately this is cope. Majority of Catholic hospitals in the US still circumcise, and do so more often than others. US circumcision rates are heavily tied to rates of Christianity.

Problem with the "new covenant" is it doesn't supersede the old, it's supposed to fulfill it (remember not one jot or tittle will pass from the law... which commands circumcision). So while it doesn't prescribe circumcision going forward, it does try to justify circumcision retroactively. "Oh yeah, all that infant mutilation/rape stuff good, but only in the past!" ...that's the Christian take as far as I can tell. You're still worshipping a god that at some point commanded mutilating/raping kids. I'll give Christianity credit for technically doing away with it, but it still seems flawed to me for this reason.
