generally, higher suicide rates mean higher quality of life
people in 3rd world countries (also homeless people) are too busy fighting for basic material security and dignity, which is fulfilling in a strange way. it's living with the conscious state of an animal, and pure survival is what our genes are for.
whereas, someone like a dentist who lives a peaceful routine life with security and all needs taken care of, he actually realizes how pointless civilization is
