Not OP but it's similar to say a Brit vs someone with a very distinct American accent like the Deep South or New York/Boston. Or spanish from Spain vs El Salvador. It's like 90% similar to each other but those 10% of differences are clear as day.
Ironically, apparently Quebec French is closest to what France French used to be 100s of years ago, and we try to be more Francophone than the French themselves. In France they'll use all sorts of English words like "email" whereas the language police of quebec has to come up with words like "courriel", also the name of movies video games brand names etc. As a famous example "Fast and Furious" in France is "Fast and Furious" with a French accent where as the language police here has it translate to "Rapides Et Dangeureux".
Also we also wide differences in regional accents in Quebec. Montreal French is easily the closest thing to France French, once you start spreading out anywhere else in the province people start to sound like the farmers and lobster fishers that they are. France also has its regional accents though like people from Paris are also making fun of their own people from the North and South.
