Sam hired Jet for the first time in what, like 2019? 2018? I'm spotty but it was somewhere in there.
Jet's last tripfag post as hack_blastard was in 2017. At the time, he was known to, and allegedly had intimacy with Ciara Horan, infamous 4chan pedobait who later died of a drug overdose.
Ciara and Marky Thompson both occupied similar groupchat/Discord circles, along with women like the infamous murder victim Bianca Devins and possibly dozens less notable one-time e-girls that were being abused and groomed in a proto-:764/COM" community, of which Jet was at least aware if not a participant in (I don't believe any screencaps exist of his activity if he had any).
Marky was actually relatively old for these circles at the time in her early 20s and was moving past them to focus on her own thing.
She still would have had the overlap of having both interacted with Sam and early '10s Chan culture and then later on /r9k and the late '10s Discord culture.
Knowing this, I ask myself, what exactly was the special piece that Jet brought to Sam's table? He had posted for a long time about being a Sam Hyde superfan under his tripcode on 4chan. Was that enough to make Sam bring him from Georgia to Rhode Island as his apprentice? There was nobody more talented, in a closer proximity, closer to Sam's age with a desire to do whatever work Jet has been doing the last several years? I feel like there's something deeper beneath the surface than the explanation we've all just been accepting.
It might not mean much to most people, maybe I am crazy. But something just doesn't feel right about it all.
