autism affects everyone differently.
i used to be friends with an autistic women who was pretty chill
but then there wad this autistic guy in my college class who smelled like cat piss constantly.
Then i also had an autistic friend who never showered. On the other end i had an autistic friend who was RIDICULOUSLY GOOD with women.
He'd be sleeping with a new girl every week he met somewhere and he was a diagnosed autisic
Ive also had an autistic friend who was very sophistic. He was really good with history and philosophy

I guess we’re spending the rest of this thread guessing his melanin level…

But you did give several aspies the light of day. I guess there’s one Homo sapien out there who was born with a soul after all.

this

I'm autistic as fuck but I'm clean and good looking. I enjoy talking to people and if anything I'm overly social. I just have weird interests, and memorize literally everything. IQ 9000 off the charts genius. Chronic underachiever. I have three kids and have dated more women than most autists have ever talked to. Been married twice. I read obsessively about shit nobody cares about. I know stuff. Also pretty good with a gun and not bad in a fist fight. Dress like a bum own a house and three cars and a business. I spend most days drunk off my ass. Autism can be a superpower or a serious disability or both. Some of us hide it very well, but once you get to know us you realize we're a bit weird.

you think?

lol I'm coping with the fact that I'm basically a different species of animal than everyone around me. And no matter how hard I work or how much I achieve I can't fill the empty space inside me where a soul should be.

You were misdiagnosed. The behavioral health field is hardly even established, that’s why health insurers hesitate to cover it.
If you visit an autism group, it might be full of people who look middle class, socializing just as well as normal people. Behavioral health practitioners are hacks.

I was diagnosed before you were born and repeatedly since then

I was diagnosed when Rain Man was in theaters. It took a bit more to get a diagnosis back then. Back then they called us autistic psychopaths, not assburgers

now you just have depression and don't feel like showering and walla you're autistic.

my first suggestion of a diagnosis came in 5th grade when I scored a 161 on the Stanford Binet

my next suggestion was when I took the ASVAB in high school and scored a 99

then I got in trouble with the law and my psychiatrist gave me a Raven's for 155

after that I joined the Marines and scored a 99 on the ASVAB again at MEPS. And again at MCRD. And they thought I was cheating so they made me take it two more times. The second time I purposefully missed a few answers so they would let me in.

at that point they had me pegged. I was sectioned out of the military with an Autism diagnosis because while I had an eidetic memory which is useful to the military, I couldn't follow orders and broke under stress which is not useful or even helpful.

to get an autism diagnosis from the US Navy in the 1980's takes some serious, professional, weapons grade tism.

your average autist now couldn't even get into the marines, let alone pass basic and get dropped at the end for being too smart and utterly incapable of taking orders.

what was actually interesting is in 1987 there were three versions of the ASVAB to discourage cheating. You were given one of the three at random. If they suspected cheating they'd give you one of the other three

by the time I left the marines I had memorized the answers of all three. I didn't even have to read the questions, I memorized the multiple choice letters to the correct answers.

I could open the test, read the first two questions, and immediately know which version of the test I had and finish the test in 5 minutes with a perfect score

because I didn't read it. I memorized the whole thing the first time I took it

however memorizing the three versions of the ASVAB is not a useful military skill

counting toothpicks. Utterly useless

It is however the reason I drink

I memorize everything
Unless I'm drunk, then I forget

I drink to forget the words I read and write tonight
