>>22862257my first suggestion of a diagnosis came in 5th grade when I scored a 161 on the Stanford Binet
my next suggestion was when I took the ASVAB in high school and scored a 99
then I got in trouble with the law and my psychiatrist gave me a Raven's for 155
after that I joined the Marines and scored a 99 on the ASVAB again at MEPS. And again at MCRD. And they thought I was cheating so they made me take it two more times. The second time I purposefully missed a few answers so they would let me in.
at that point they had me pegged. I was sectioned out of the military with an Autism diagnosis because while I had an eidetic memory which is useful to the military, I couldn't follow orders and broke under stress which is not useful or even helpful.
to get an autism diagnosis from the US Navy in the 1980's takes some serious, professional, weapons grade tism.
your average autist now couldn't even get into the marines, let alone pass basic and get dropped at the end for being too smart and utterly incapable of taking orders.
