The job market is horribly oversaturated in the United States by a ton of experienced professionals who have been laid off and are willing to take massive pay cuts out of desperation. Something a lot of companies are doing is they initially post an entry level job then they get inundated with an avalanche of highly overqualified applicants and lo and behold, it's not an entry level position anymore.
