Yeah, they just completely removed the fedora from every scene in the game in the Definitive Edition because of how many people were clowning on it in the original release. There's some other notable changes too like removing the color coded enemies, and I think they added one extra cutscene to make a level transition better, but the Fedora's still one of the funniest things to have been "fixed" in the definitive release.

deus ex 1 is a fantastic game but it's pretty janky so you might not like it if you can't into older games. I'd say still give it a try, but I don't think it's as great as some other games if you're looking for a focused stealth experience. it's there if you want it but the game is really more about being as flexible and open to solutions as possible (hence the "immersive simulator" design philosophy).

I would recommend prey 2017 if you liked dishonored.

No. Stealth is on life support as a genre same with racing games. There are more upcoming fighting games announced than racers and stealth games. Indie scene is dead for those genres too every indie racer is dogshit low poly Rally game or shovelware OutRun clone and last indie stealth game was Aragami 2 which nuked entire studio. A lot of people dont talk about this but there are a lot of genres that are basically dead or at best are on life support. Delusional faggots will tell you to look at indie scene while its also in 85% metroivania pixelart roguelike trash about mental illness or worse clones of more successful titles. Same with 3D platformers really you gotta own Nintendo console to have anything from that genre. 90% of video games coming out nowadays are soulslike RPGs,FPS titles,third person "cinematic experiences" and dogshit roguelikes lol.

I know. Stealth is also a genre that simply requires really good level design and finding good level designers in current industry is like finding a fucking big foot. Stealth also became core option in almost all shitty ass open world games too but AI pathing and such even on highest difficulties is made braindead on purpose by design to make stealth not frustrating for average golem. "Stealth" in those games is just "press X to do cool and see same takedown animation 500 times".
