Anime isn't enjoyable because all the characters have meaningful and eventful lives; it just makes me feel worse about my own.

it's probably a blessing in disguise, this makes it harder to distract yourself from your own problems
in the past there were single mothers who got sucked into soap operas & just slowly got dementia from watching the TV and sleeping
you wouldn't wanna be like that

i still return to shows i liked when i was like 12 to 15, back when they felt more inspiring and magical
it's kinda comforting
