>>22930547 (OP)>>510209072Okay. Firstly, another guy said something about lifting the car enough to "get the pressure off the conical surface of the bolts, but still in contact with ground so it won't rotate"
It absolutly will rotate unless it has alot of pressure. Bolt to rim friction is a non issue.
The car didn't move because she didn't have it in park or used the handbrake, but because the other front wheel is still on the ground. If the gearbox input is blocked, as when the car is in gear or maybe in park? Americans? Then the diff will make the opposite tyre spin the opposite direction.
Not using the handbrake is correct imo when on a nice level serface like this, because she avoids the risk of the control arm pivot, depending one rear suspension type, pulling the car backwards.
The video is not mirrored. She turns the tyre forwards, car drives bacwards, crutially also slides off the jack backwards.
When torqueing nuts one needs to imagine the toughness and brittleness of the steel taking into account the force applied and the thread pitch. You do this with high test spacial intelligence and a bit of experience.
Going as tight as you can very much carries the risk of stripping shit out. I have stripped so many steering knuckles. I think they are soft to better mate with the conical spindle holes but whatever.
People who religiously tourqe are pussies scared of trusting themselves and often store their wrench with tension so it gets inaccurate. Straight trash. You need to learn and be good and trust yourself.
Also yes ofcause she is going the wrong way but could have eventually noticed if not for all the other mistakes.
I live this place but feel somewhat dissapointed whenever you talk about cars. There is a word for that feeling, named after the guy who first described it.
T. shitbox flipper ((I fix them in the street(have no garage))
Edit #1 I followed this here from pol because I get that pissed seeing you guys ranting and being wrong.
