it's not just a bunch of microphones/cameras being viewed by a bunch of skinny glowie weirdos in suits
there's too much data for that
they have to basically build a massive superorganism to make use of all the data efficiently
the hundreds of millions of phones are basically sense organs, once you centralize their data

Trusting big public/private data companies with your likeness and intellectual property is dumb. I would rather just post here with my dumb selfies whenever I post, and it will probably still get sold to less people/companies than if I had an actual account on an application specifically designed to do that.

the ad companies which buy data probably have very good security
someone using the information to steal from you or do identity theft is one thing, but the ad companies are actually doing worse shit, they're just playing the long game
they wouldn't let your data get stolen and used by some petty thieves though, that would be a big scandal
