There is something like “cosmic law”, corresponding to what could be called people’s karmas, or state of spiritual development.
The evil, aggressive, sadistic, psychopathic, abusive elements of humanity resonantly magnetize greater and more powerful abusers to them. Karmic repercussion.
Those with enough degree of goodness to them, are on the other hand protected. If you spiritually develop yourself and your consciousness enough, you can even resonantly magnetize higher benevolent ET contact. This is not always so dramatic as portrayed in the movies, full-blown physical contact and being taken on a ship, but actually for more of humanity it seems to more commonly be something like telepathic communion, also even dreams as described in the OP (subtle body encounters). This can even take place below the level of consciousness, or on the subconscious level. Perhaps you might remember dreams from childhood of seeing a bunch of UFOs, or extraterrestrial-piloted vehicles, popping up in the sky for instance.
Old mythological and religious texts, like the Bible, contain lots of truths in them but also filtered through the primitive understanding or mindset of humanity. Some benevolent ETI (extraterrestrial intelligences) could be regarded as angels, for instance.
