I really doubt the Holloman AFB story desu. There's either 2 explanations for me: 1) There has been direct contact and agreements have been made, and the secrecy is due to those agreements. 2) There hasn't been shit and they refuse to talk to us at all, and the secrecy is because the government cannot bare to admit that because it is humiliating for them. My money is on #2, but if it's #1, I really doubt the secrecy is due to a demand for it being made by NHI. They don't seem to give a fuck if we know or not. For example, it would be easy for them to clean up after their cattle mutilations, or to harvest whatever from whales in the deep ocean...but they don't and leave the mess everywhere because they don't give a shit. The only thing you can really expect from an intelligence that is equal or grester to your own is deception.
There is a principle of extremely intelligent individuals understand that the end goal of everything is cooperation but true cooperation even among ourselves is very difficult ( usually cooperation is the excuse for abusive relationships like Israel and America or America and Europe or China and Africa ).

Another issue is that if something artificial is coming here, the chances of it being for good reasons are much much lower and less logical than it coming here for bad reasons.
If we have to use our intelligence as a guideline for other intelligences than I woyld be concerned that if other living intelligences are physically coming here than it can only be for the purpose of deploying weaponry that want to keep control over from adversaries ( they dont want to remote deploy a weapon technology that can go missing or be intercepted or fail due to a number of possible complications ) or they are coming to take large amounts of living speciments or maybe to process and preserve biomatter ( think Japanese research vessels or Bearing sea crab fishing boats ). And the last and most likely is to establish a colony here and eventually restrict the indigeous population to reservations on a fraction of the land we used to occupy ( they'll probably be added by countries and governments at odds with each other for a while and assisted by novel diseases that along with the war hollow out the populations and make it much easier to control the fate of entire countries )
