>Im convinced it’s just clever market manipulation as there always seems to be a surge in new coom content developed after a moral purge. It goes something like:
>>coom content appears
>>gains traction
>>stagnates
>>”moral” purge
>>rebirth and growth
i think it's broader than a marketing strategy for coom content
you mentioned AI for example
something decent is offered which enhances life and you'd be stupid not to use it, everyone starts using it, it gets swapped for something which makes more money for less effort and is easy to churn out
at this point, anything good for the consumer is always just a ploy to get them paying for nothing 5 years down the line
it happened with search engines and videogames as well, AAA studios are trying to turn videogames into what movies were 20 years ago, disposable hype things with merchandise for superfans, something you can do over the weekend with friends
i don't know, maybe there's a more specific marketing strategy the coom games are doing, but i think it's both in this case
