The building had a unique design, with long-span floor systems and a transfer truss system, making it more vulnerable to collapse once a key column failed.

It was also built over a Con Edison power substation, adding complexity to the structural design.

all three buildings were prepared for controlled demolition months in advance
the planes they flew into the towers didn't do enough damage on their own but for 1 and 2 it was enough to look plausible when they pushes the button. with 7 the damage was clearly not enough but they pressed the button on it anyway
