Organisations like the NHS dictate to big pharma what the prices they find acceptable for certain drugs and is the fueling force behind trying to privatise the NHS. Imagine if the US had their own NHS, they'd be able to dictate the prices of their drugs and save millions of dollars.

That would never happen sadly, America is run by insurance companies. Have you read up on united healthcare? They’re one of the worst but honestly all insurance is. I used to have to work with them back in the day and it’s honestly eye opening how bad they ALL are. I remember one customer ended up having to pay $5000 out of pocket to get his car fixed because the insurance company never sent an agent to estimate a quote on the repairs. It had been like 3 weeks and they never even contacted us once. Im not sure what happened to him after that but I’m sure he never went back to that company. And the insane part is they LEGALLY require you to pay for these shitty services or risk getting fined/prison time. It’s basically a low-tier crime syndicate that’s also a government run monopoly.
