I only feel tolerated and not actually accepted i feel like they feel contempt for me even the ones who are nice. Why is this?

Well people like me in class I tell them jokes and they laugh they tell me some back and ww laugh and have conversations but whenever i ask for something more like playing a game together or hanging out they say they are busy or cant.. i found a small friend group we played games together but im not even in the group chat

alot of people are too nervous to try that
try not to feel too worried or take it personally when they refuse passively, that's just how most people are
it's good to keep trying though, even if only 1 in 10 people accepts
that's the way to make friends

there could be a simple reason why they like you but don't want to hang out
like for example, i had a friend who was overly energetic, but everyone liked him besides that
he had a very good childhood friend who mentioned it, and then in 9th grade he made an effort to act calmer, and became very popular
it sucks people aren't more honest, otherwise maybe you could just ask & they'd tell you

Yea I was way more popular 2 years ago everybody knew me everybody wanted to talk to me id be put in all the groupchats but now i dont know if im old news or something i look at peoples stories they are going to parties several friend groups in the photo and i feel left out.. and the girls always make fun of me because they are honest they think i am a loser because i dont show up to those parties.. i live in a small town mostly everybody is friends with eachother

i lived in a small town as well, and i can tell you, i greatly regret not talking to the quiet artist type kids
i hung out with the louder more locally popular kids & got along with them, but i regret it greatly
i can't relate to them anymore & they're all still shallow as fuck

those type of girls who make fun of kids ended up as drug addict nurses and/or hanging out with criminals, straight up
you might want to focus on getting to a good college or something, where you could meet stimulating people who aren't doing this social posturing shit
