They don't have the mental capacity to be all of these things. They basically think in binary terms. Something either stresses them out or it doesn't. Get food, fuck, claim territory, sleep. I personally like the speed of cat relations. I feed it, it lets me pet it for 2 minutes, then it fucks off. Perfect pet IMO.

Also, I went on vacation for a month. The girl that was supposed to feed my cat failed and he was literally dying when I got home. Instead of going straight to the water or food I poured for him, he first jumped into my arms and licked my face for 5 whole minutes. He wouldn't stop trying to snuggle up to me. Then he pulled me by my finger to his food and kept motioning with his gaze for me to eat, like he thought I must be starving too and wanted me to eat. Only when I took some nuts from the pantry and started eating it in front of him did he start eating his food. He wouldn't leave my side the rest of the week. Cats absolutely have empathy and the ability to comprehend love and compassion. Who the fuck goes on 4chan of all places and thinks anybody would agree with this shit?

Farm cats more than earn their keep, and it's good for old women to have a dog or cat, keeps their maternal instincts occupied when they're no longer mothers and not 24/7 grand parents.

Pets shouldn't be used as a substitute for kids though, good to have when raising kids and after, but not instead of.
