there was some air force general (or maybe it was an army general, i don't remember if the air force was separate back then) who was an engineer at one point
he orchestrated the fire bombings which were overall way more destructive than the two nukes
i think they destroyed 2/3rds of the buildings in japan or something like that
it's crazy to think about how many beautiful things were lost & trampled during the 20th century, no one really thinks about it
