/aa/ anonymous alcoholics
Hey Guys, new general. because /bant/ didn't enough already.
>what is /aa/?
it's the hip new general were people can talk all things alcohol and the both great joys and misery that comes along with it.
>that should I talk to everyanon about?
seeing as this is a general centred around alcohol, alcoholism and the lifestyle that comes with it, it's very highly likely that this thread will go off topic or completely derail often. In theory it would be good to discuss such things that would be labelled "modern bar talk".
>what's modern bar talk?
it's pretty much this new concept of caring about, or a least pretending to care about, other people's thoughts and feelings but with the added benefit of being able to consume alcohol. such topics usually discussed would be, drink, work, hobbies, depression, mental health/wellbeing, support for others, family, relationships, love, food and cooking, life stories(both happy, sad and funny), drug use, poverty, movies, music, anime, manga, cigarettes and any thing that passes the drunken mind. the only golden rule is not talking about the big 3, money, religion and politics, but this rule gets broken about 70% of the time.
>can we be frens even if I don't drink?
we are already frens.

not bad, considering my uncle died recently. so I, and my father, are in the middle of process of planning his funeral. since it's an aboriginal funeral there's gonna be an unlimited bar and some good music. It's got my drinking up a bit more than, even though I drink all day every day(just slowly). what about yourself, what's been good, lad?

also that's for join the new alcoholic/emotional support general.

I'll probably be in guys general a lot. I'm 36 and had acute liver failure in April 2024. Drank about a handle of vodka per day near the end. Started drinking heavily on my 21st birthday.
Went an entire year without booze and my liver healed up completely. Currently experiencing a relapse

I remember your posts from last year and remember talking to you about drinking related stomach problems. I started drinking at 13, since my state only had a recommend drinking age, 15, and federal law were treated as suggestion at the time. there's more factors at play but that's a lot of stories to tell.
>relapse
what to you think pushed you to that. I mean I've relapse more times than I can count, at least 18 times over the last 10 years, and it's all always the smallest things that drive you to it.

That's crazy. Well hey good to talk to you again. At least we're both still alive.

I relapsed after rehoming my dog. She hated apartment life after living her whole life in the suburbs with a back yard. I'm not going to be back in a house any time in the next decade so I found her a retired lady with back yard etc. She's much happier these days but it was enough to trigger the relapse. I'm currently growing some psilocybe shrooms with the intention of tripping balls and hopefully that will reset me.
Anonymous (ID: 4+H5Xk1U) Australia No.23085173 [Report] >>23085263

that's all too understandable. I relapsed really hard after lost 2 dachshunds to a cane toad(another of the 60-70% of animals that we have here that kill you) I had got them for chasing rabbits, but since they were useless at that I kept them as companion dogs. when I came back to see them on the ground with the obvious signs of toad I immediately reached for a drink and in the end, after all said done, I was drinking 1.25 gallons of wine or 3 gallons of 5% a day.

I have two side of my family who both had to deal with death, my white grand father was in ww2, and he never touched a drink in his 102 year, he was boring, authoritive and died alone in a hospital bed, alone. my uncle, black, veit vet, pissed on all the time, made 200 friends who are currently rsvp for his funeral, had 30 mistress, I only recently found out I have 15 more cousin(that we know of). moral of the story is that if you drink you might become(involuntary) become a .shagger.
>>23085263
it's a bit a of a story. I enden up, first, grappling with my own my own hypothetical thought about hunting with dog. we'd(they'd be owed by my cousins and I) lose 3 or 4 pig to wild pigs every year, but I got these two, Jin(kamilaroi for young girl) and Bohyung(and kamilaroi for my previous boy), to hunt rabbits to get them rabbits, because I prefer them over boar. I got eventually got over it and was lifted out of it by my white friends just distracting me and cheering me up, even though it took a while for me to come around. I know it sounds bad but these where all friends I formed over alcohol and they were there to support me.

It's fucking dumb as shit. It's like they want us to get hammered on cheap beer alone in our homes where we're just miserable instead of going out to socialize. I get the tax on alcohol but there is no good reason why they couldn't just lower the taxation at pubs and clubs and such. Then people would be incentivized to be social and act presentable instead of just staying home beating their wives.

Also fuck Captcha. This shit is hard.

I ended up taking a "power nap"
it's not particularly difficult or complicated, but everyone has thier own styles. I personally learn brewing and distilling as a kid. from my adoptive nonna, my real grandmother abandoned my mother and my aunts when my mother was 8 or 9, I learnt wine making when I was about 14 years old and I learnt distilling to make balkan rakija off of my bosnian friend's family who lived next door to me, his mother loved my like one her own sons for some reason. now for my recipe for a wine mash, in metric:
take about 4L of grape juice of any kind, if you're using store bought if can't have any preservatives. pour it in to your drum, then add some peach, apricot and apples peeled brunoised, this makes its eat easier for the yeast. then add another 5 or 6L of blood temperature water, then add 3 or 4 kilos of brown or raw sugar, since white sugar is treated with poison and I live amongst the cane, and ad a mix of bakers yeast and brewers yeast, stir well to for about an hour so everyone gets to know each other, and seal for 2 weeks. I would get into 'stilling but it's a dangerous demon and you'd have to give me your expressed permission to know about it, for legal reasons.

Hi, I'm not considering myself 100% an alcoholic as I'm only getting wasted once every week or two (and right now), but my love for cheap alcohol, and it definitively puts me in that category in the eyes of nomies.
I'm tired, I had so many dreams and ambitions with the means to realize them when I was young, but society got me and broke me.
I am here because it's the last place where I can find (a minority) people that have not thrown away their humanity and I love you for that.
I'm impressed by the number of french flags. We honor our reputation.

Thank you knowing I'm not alone, is the only thing keeping me from going more insane.
To bump the thread I will continue on my rambling.
I have tried. It's been 10+ years that I've been searching for a job and I didn't care what kind. The only job I ever got was grape harvest and on the first day, my employer said to my face "If I've seen you before hand I will have never taken you". I say to my counselor at the unemployment office that I will be happy to work at the manufacturing plant. I just need a driving license to go there. She say I just have to call the bus company, they will make a shuttle come for me, even if the financial help for that existed (but nigger have priority for that) and you can try saying that to an employer if you want a fun time. The last nail in the coffin was at the end of a training in electronics I've done. I was already knowing more than the instructor as I'm passionate about that and I have passed 6 months learning what I've already known. At the oral exam we had to present a thing I had done, for me it was a motor controller for a drone (see related pic) and it was clearly outside of the jury competence. The only thing they found to save their face was to attack me on the facts I was a shit orator as I am an autistic neet, "It's nice to know how to do things but it's better to know how to sell them". Since that I don't give a fuck anymore I collect neetbux for depression and staying home all day.

i became a neet, altouhgt only recently since i'm still kind of young, i used to work in the feild of water treament along side my study on the subject but i kind of drop out everything since i never liked that feild any, i try to look up for some jobs but never had any awser, so i'm curently collecting neetbuck to use on booze or travel, i kind of developed someking of hednoist mindset wich force me to drink more, try some drugs or have sex with prostitute (altought rarely), i'm still looking around for some work or some training courses that I could do but i know that the future is uncertain.

There used to be similar threads on /ck/ like ~8 years ago, they were one of the main things that helped me quit drinking (along with ending up in hospital with a lung infection where they detoxed me)

I ended going there because I wanted money and neo-colonialism was the family business at the time, ironic for a family of aboriginals. grown up kinda sheltered, myself, in that I had a neurotic pillpopping mother that tried to wrap me in cotton wool until I even 25 and an alcoholic father, who would verbally abuse me constantly to "toughen me up", it worked. as far as png goes I have about a hundred stories to tell about the place some of them good, good a few good ones about new caladonia though, the png ones involve a lot death and the new cal ones are mostly about fishing and getting ripped off my kanaks.

it's quite simple really. you can just do it at a smaller scale in a 4L jar and not at the scale, fermenting in 300L bins.

I'm functionally illiterate when it comes to french. I can speak a bit polynesian french but that's about it.

I remember them, they ended up get moved here, to /bant/ by the janny niggers and then they fizzed out. it's time to have a native /bant/ one.

Yeah that was not long after I got sober that they were moved if I remember correctly.
I just stopped visiting them when they got moved from /ck/ because alcohol was one of the last things I wanted to talk about.

I remember those al/ck/ threads, they were kinda depressing so I mostly posted on /aus/ on 8ch at the time since it was mostly more upbeat and had more localised references and joke, like dan murphy taking everyone's money or jim's blowjobs and nuclear bombs™, I even met the big brenton there and we became frens, even though he was schizo at the time, I just thought he was an eccentric kiwi.

Yeah they were pretty depressing but that part of what was so helpful about them, they made alcohol feel like an enemy we were all collectively fighting.
I can totally understanding wanting to just have fun though and thats pretty crazy that you knew him

yeah, I'm kinda hope that this general can manage to keep a more upbeat tone, even though last night I woke up in random field 4 miles from the edge of town with a kilo of tobacco and what looks like about 10 grams of cocaine(that's considering). tarrant was a country boy, so he never much to say unless it came to hunting or fishing, or racism, still was a nice guy though while in australia he what pretty medicated, I remember him popping benzo like tictacs.

It's a bit hard to believe, I'll be honest.

If it's real, consider getting a bodycam because your brain has to be borderline turning into mush to have such a blackout.

I tried the coke, at least half of it is meth(I got curious, but I'm not complaining), the tobacco is legit though, as that would be obvious. they were probably my cousin's and I should probably call him about it, seeing as he likes to pull these kinda pranks.

not that well, had been sober for like 2 weeks after for a few years drinking until I passout daily and not really remembering much of my life the last years. It was tough havening to cut down as I went cold turkey but that shit fucked me up. While cutting down I have lost like 40 kg this year and I was happy I could stay sober for a bit even tho my head became a mess and I remembered why I was always drunk. Fell in again 2 days ago and blacked out alone in my room again. Now I am dissapointed in myself
