They have proven many times they are willing to lose billions to maintain control of their brainwashing machines
When the money is worthless Monopoly money it’s more important to demoralize the plebs and maintain 1984 control systems

It's like this on most websites now
They want people to lurk but not be able to voice their opinions or contribute.
They want it to be like television only much worse.
At least television was entertaining.
