The shot is of Toronto from Port Dalhousie - 51kms. It is taken from the pier at 8' above water level. Plug the data into a curve calculator and you get 530' which should be hidden.

The arrow points to Rogers center a baseball stadium that is 280' high and quite clear in the picture. The CN tower is 1800' tall. The bank towers to the right are all 900' tall.

You should see the top 2/3rd of the CN tower, none of Rogers center (white) or all buildings around it and just the top half of the bank towers.

You are familiar with vanishing point perspective - the hotel hallway converging to the center or the light poles that appear to shrink. It is the same with a picture that all converges to the center, so the water and the land get squished together.

The picture shows how easy it is to prove there is no curve. The picrel is what it should look like if there was a curve. But, it looks odd and not like any city view you have ever witnessed.
