They should be rewarded by their group and keep to themselves. I don't think we should have cities this big, or emperors so far away dictating what I should or shouldn't do. More to the point, I have absolutely no faith in existing systems of law to usefully separate the "despised group" 's individuals from the conditions which caused them to be despised, as those systems have been totally impotent thus far. An individual must separate themselves from the group when the group cannot change its ways if they wish to be treated as a separate individual. Small tokens of contribution to culture or science, however much I like them personally, are not reasons to become careless about causes of agony and disaster.

Yeah sure, but the reward system should be organic. There will never be a perfect meritocracy but deliberately trying to "correct" a flawed meritocracy will just make it far less merit based, which is what DEI and similar measures have done. That's demonstrably the logical conclusion of liberalism/anti-racism in a multicultural society. Once again, there can never be a true meritocracy because the people in charge of hiring and promoting people will always have both personal and collective preferences, but you can maximize merit by ensuring that representatives of the majority population are in charge, as they are less likely to show preference to their in-group compared to a smaller minority.
