>>Sex trafficking was a big problem in the Mediterranean
Sex trafficking was not a thing, or rather NOT FUCKING ILLEGAL, anywhere on Earth at the time. Rome was a slaver society. Pedophilia and homosexuality were both distasteful but what men did to their slaves or barbarians (or if you were rich, plebs) was for the most part your own affair.
>>afterwards had them all crucified
1. I could be wrong but as I recall he hand them strangled.
2. Subtly suggesting crucifixion was some special form of punishment reserved only for extreme crimes with 'sex trafficking' being a known example of the type of crime it took to get crucified. They crucified damn near everyone at the time. The road from Jerusalem to the see was literally lined with convicts hanging from crosses. Crucifying people was Legio III Glacia's "thing".
3. They were not killed for kidnapping, or piracy, or "sex trafficking". In the right context none of these were crimes. They were killed for the most serious crime in the entire universe in that part of the time. Being barbarian scum who touched a Roman citizen. They used to start small scale wars over that kind of shit, they'd damn sure hang some bandits.
>>Jesus Christ was in fact crucified between two other leistes
Jesus was crucified between a convicted thief and a convicted murder.
