The New New internet will emerge once all the people who grew up with the internet die out.

Remember when ISP's used to give you bandwidth with your subscription to them? We remember and cherish every thing they took away from us in the name of capitalism.

boomers never needed social security, their houses were £30000 with a salary of £25000 a year. They literally don't know how social security works because they've always had money and things to invest in.

Once 1980's babies die out, the new internet will take root.

it's no longer just about them dying out
the interests who instantiate the new internet are now killing groups of people
>boomers never needed social security, their houses were £30000 with a salary of £25000 a year. They literally don't know how social security works because they've always had money and things to invest in.
i think if social security programs had been straight up cancelled, it would've been bad
and clearly the ones who didn't hold onto their wealth DO need it
i understand it was easier in the past, i don't think that has anything to do with what i said though

I hoarded some more

if you store them in a well-organized way, and/or add some frontends and programs and scripts to make it easier, you'll end up using them many times
liek a zim file of wikipedia might be useless without a decent zim reader

there's always somewhere else to go & it's always possible to live well

I like how we can all vote to stop this, we can all do something about it and we're already conceding defeat but I've seen you guys go to the ends of the earth to troll Shai Lebouff

mostly movies, music & games. I have a feeling they'll get taken down or be inaccessible without coughing up my ID

Find outdoor hobbies.
Ideally, many things online are stuff we can do without in our day-to-day.

it's really not the same people here now, for the most part
the same organized trolling spirit is probably more prevalent on the jak website than 4chan at this point
as much as i hate that site, i think it might become the gen alpha equivalent, and take up the same mantle

steam games have DRM requiring the steam client to play, but they are installed locally
there's a good chance that old installations of steam games will become playable in the next few decades, if that steam DRM is eventually broken/cracked
dunno though, just interesting mainly

I'm tired of us Zoomers excusing our apathy, we had more get up and go for net neutrality.

As critical as my generation if we sure jump on the defeatist train pretty quick and don't get upset until things are so bad you cant deny it.

I don't wanna be like Britan

man i remember the net neutrality thing, and yeah
i really wonder what happened between then and now
it felt like there was almost none of that sort of apathy
maybe covid?

but really my tastes changed a lot over the span of a decade. I searched for a while for the right porn, movies, music, games, everything
