How do you niggas still watch anime when all the characters are in high school. I try to watch it but it just seems cringe and fills me with regret. It makes me feel hollow.

i think people are supposed to find some sort of place in the world during their teenage years, like that's what our brains expect & what we're evolved for
the "angst" which "goes away" is the result of never finding a secure place in the world & being a peasant slave in an overpopulated world

lol I dunno, I mostly read manga. it's fun to watch cute high school girls do cute things. I do fine the corporate loser gets isekai'd with 9001 cheat skills and immediately gets a harem of 15 year olds type of wish fulfillment anime to be unbearable, although I do think Harem King's Press Journey in Another World deserves an anime since it quite funny and self aware.

I actually had a fulfilled childhood and adolescent life so I'm not bitter about it. I've also been in love multiple times so I'm not bothered by other people in love.
I enjoy anime. The stories are fun and most have a good message.
