I found out I was a latchkey kid? Idk, this seems very soi to me.

i think the term used to be more meaningful, back when families were normally stronger
now everyone just kinda exists near each other & the only close relationship/bond is that with the computer god

you'd be surprised how little freedom some kids had, my mom becoming an alcoholic as a child actually gave me so much freedom

i'm just saying, it's considered more normal now, by all generations
i would think it was kinda new back then, to the point where older generations of the time might've used the term "latchkey kid" & thought it hit harder
