if i were wiring a bomb i would simply make all the wires the same color and damage the digital readout of the timer so that it could not be read.

if i were wiring the bombs in the twin twoers, i would make it so the explosives along the bottom 80% of the building explode gradually from the top down so the tiny top chunk of the building falls all the way to the ground at terminal velocity & looks like it's smashing through the rest of the building somehow

When I worked in screen printing I was pretty much the person designated to repair all of our equipment. I to put in a new control unit for an industrial dryer and when the part came in I told my boss I would need some new wire to set it up. The next day he gave me a giant spool of all green wire. I asked him if there were any other colors and he told me that's all there was. I went through the schematics and installed the whole thing with only green wire and it looked like an alien device growing out of the control panel with green wires going to every thermostat, motor controller, temperature controller and blower motor. It was pretty surreal and I was both ashamed and impressed at how it turned out.
