hey man, everyone gets old. Either someone from your family will look after you like you look after your Grandpa or the state will send someone to look after you.

You'll be alright. Your Grandpa probably can't even bring himself to let you know how much he loves you for caring for him. You're doing special work for a member of your family and that's probably the nobelest battle of them all. Don't think looking after him isn't amazing, you are amazing and it'll pay off! Don't be disheartened!

it's definitely a good thing to do, but if it just feels like the path of least resistance & something good you happen to be able to do, you might regret it

i had a family member who said "your responsibility is only down, never up", although that was within the context of some generational trauma crap

it's scary, and if you feel like you would waste your life on petty stuff if you weren't taking care of your family, i can understand why you would do that even if it feels like shit
but you might want to think about if there's something better you would do with your life/time, if you had the time/ability

if you know why you're doing it, and you're doing it out of love or whatever, then it's good for sure
and feeling exhausted is one thing
but if it feels like an obligation or makes you want to die, you might want to put some thought into it, i guess

either way, it's important to avoid exhaustion
take a couple hours a day to play an instrument or walk or something, rather than just sitting there, if that makes sense
it's something i wish i had done, and it will help you take better care of your family if you have more energy and are better able to focus
