I've had 6 cats die in my lap, two friends die from suicide, and two dogs (one from death and one from necessary rehoming). Grandmother and grandfather when I was young. I also volunteer in a cat shelter now and deal with death about once a month since we care for approx 80-100 at a time.

Oh and since we're talking about loss and not necessarily death, I used to be married. Had 3 cats, a stepdaughter, a wife. Lost all them. My choosing on the humans (despicable people) but I sure miss the cats.
