The bible was written by man and even per the bible man is flawed. The whole it being "word of god" literally is a newer concept. The Bible has also been edited, censored, had entire sections removed and added in that it's a jumble of different cultures, time periods and views.

The idea of the bible was taken from the epic poems of the greeks. Originally just a loose collection of scrolls made from hide or papyrus where different churches had different stories and it wasn't meant to be didactic in that it teaches life lessons not that the stories being presented actually occured. Over the course of 2000 years congregates of church leaders came together to decide on an official cannon which has changed multiple times through out history. The idea of the bible being the literal "word of God' has only been around for a little over 100 years. Also of the bible was also inspired by Egyptian spiritual beliefs that were tweaked for western audiences.
