Is this a new UK trend or gang I only noticed until now?

I'm nearly 22, my brother's 26 and I recently saw my brother's friends group and they all dress the same, talk the same and listen to the same music and I'm wondering if this is some new trend or if he's even a member of some gang
Fashion: brother never leaves the house not wearing a matching grey tracksuit, usually Nike, with trainers, usually Air Max and grey/white. Baseball cap is on even if it's cloudy or at night. Sometimes gold earrings/piercings. Friends all dress the same way
Hairstyle: they all have this style where the sides are faded short and the top looks a bit like a bowl cut
Language: "mush" = friend "minging" = gross/dirty
Music: Always some form of grime or rap
Saw my brother watching a video which had another group of people in it all dressed/talking and acting the same way so I'm wondering if this is some new trend/culture I didn't notice until now?
For American readers the best way I can describe this is an odd mixture of Redneck and white Gangsta except not quite
