I've been having an anxiety attack for days. I don't even know why.

sorry anon
how are you spending your time? maybe you could find some outlet or something to take your mind off of it?
maybe exercise or learn to code or go for a long drive or some shit, idk

are you sleeping enough, and at normal times (i.e. early to bed, early to rise)?
I start to get perma-fight-or-flight cortisol explosion after periods of not sleeping properly

Thanks for your concern, anon. I've actually been dealing with this for years and I went two years without doing any and without medication. I thought I was free. I recently had an MRI for an ear problem and seeing my own brain triggered a huge unexpected attack (even though it's perfectly normal and the doctor wrote it down). I only have expired anti-anxiety medication on hand and I'm happy with that because my doctor is on vacation.

I sleep too much, I think, anon. More than 10 hours of sleep, but poor quality, I drink too much coffee, smoke too much nicotine, and I'm also addicted to kratom. In addition, the atmosphere in France is very unhealthy and it affects me a lot. I'm a solitary person, but I probably spend too much time alone. I go out once a day for a walk; it's my only physical activity. I weigh 52 kg and am 1.70 m tall.

the stimulant abuse probably isn't helping you, but you make it sound more psychological in origin than physiological
would you describe yourself as somewhat neurotic, or a 'worrier'? I've heard of people regaining a modicum of control via meditation and mindfulness practices, and the other anon suggesting distractions might be onto something
have you tried 'grounding exercises' such as the '5-4-3-2-1 method'?

I'm sorry you're going through this; I know your pain
please experiment with reducing your stimulant intake if you're able—though I know they can bring a great deal of short-term relief

Yes, all the physical exams are normal. I'm just thinner than average. This kind of therapy is effective but you have to do it regularly and I stopped because I thought I was cured. I haven't had a crisis for years. The problem is that if I stop the stimulants now I'll have withdrawal symptoms and that will aggravate the anxiety problem in addition to giving me the diarrhea (kratom). So I have to wait for my condition to stabilize and I only have expired Tercian tablets that I really take in small doses. I have to start the whole process again: treatment, therapy and etc. It's exhausting, this anxiety disorder is a real mess but this time I'm going to take the opportunity to ask for neetbux. I've been trying to get into the job market for years but I get stressed as soon as there are more than three people in a room and I rarely last more than a week. I'm sure I'm not the only anon going through this. I feel like there are a lot of us actually.

A compatriot! Yes, a few days before my crisis, I saw clips on a YouTube channel from a YouTuber who was talking about it. It's absolutely horrible and I think it's not helping my mental state even if it's not the only cause. How can you do that ? It's completely beyond me.

yes, there are a lot of people here in the exact same boat, though many don't seem to be trying to fight against it as hard as you
it sounds draining, and I've got a lot of respect for you for not just giving in

rather than going cold turkey and aiming for immediate cessation, have you considered slowly 'tapering off'—just gradually decreasing the stimulant intake?
you could space it out over weeks, even months, if you wanted
it would take longer, but you avoid the worst of the withdrawals by slowly acclimatising, and of course you'll likely still want to smoke a little, which is perfectly fine

you know yourself best, but please do consider trying to slowly reduce intake—the stimulants are guaranteed to exacerbate your anxiety, and it's the only advice I can really offer you

also please do go for whatever financial help is being offered: it's one less thing to worry about
just focus on not being a bag of nerves for now

Talking here helped me. You have to fight because I've seen people stop fighting their illness and it's not a pretty sight. My mistake was that I was lacking vigilance and I didn't protect myself enough, in my head I was cured. Thank you for listening in any case, I'm going to follow your advice on stopping gradually, it seems quite reasonable to me. It's horrible because I was anxious about my MRI, then the next day I was afraid of having a cardiac arrest, and just now it was about being crazy. It's as if my anxiety disorder was looking for every way to torment me. I also have to try to be less alone, I can have normal conversations when there are only one or two people, more people makes me nervous, maybe make friends with a neighbor or something like that.

I feel for you anon. Anxiety sucks. If you ever experience it intensely come to bant to talk, there are a bunch of people here who would chat with you about anything and nothing so that it takes your mind off it. Sorry you are experiencing a real reaction to seeing an MRI of your own brain.

Hundreds of hours? Are you conducting an investigation? I'm quite sensitive to this kind of content, I don't like torture or violence because I was assaulted by an Englishman (a real Englishman) outside a bar about ten years ago and I have after-effects and I think my anxiety comes from there too. The guy was dead drunk and he took me for someone else but he almost killed me.

Are you into video games?

Yes, I play Genshin, grand strategy games like Total War, HOI4 etc a bit of PS1 retro gaming that I emulate on my PC. The problem is when I'm anxious it's impossible to stay focused.

Those are some good games. I played a little of Genshin and realised there's hundreds of characters to collect and I wouldn't put in the time needed to unlock them all.

Emulation is fun! I used to emulate the SNES back in the day to play Legend of Zelda Link to the past. I recently bought Chasm and intend to play through it a few times! Any upcoming games you interested in playing?

Genshin is very cool and relaxing, but if you never want to pay you will be frustrated. I pay the favor of the star at $5 every month. But it is an excellent game. I am playing Legend of Dragoon right now, I started it when I was little, there were 6 CDs at the time. It is a bit of a clone of Final Fantasy

Hey Legend of Dragoon looks awesomely sick! I didn't know about it at all. 6 CD's? Man we really went through something. I remember when installing World of Warcraft Burning Crusade was like 6 or 7 CD's. I had the best times on WoW. Anyway French anon, I hope I helped a little and recommend you do the same as me and head to bed! The eepies have got me!
