I said actually nice. You can usually tell when a cop is a dick and if he's actually looking out for someone's well being. Yes, in general, don't speak to the police without a lawyer present however, OP does not specify what kind of "question" the officer wants to ask. Either way whatever you say goes on their report that's for sure. But I've been approached by numerous cops and some were just kinda chill while others were well dicks. The accuasational tone usually separates them from the chill ones.

this happened recently in a new neighborhood I moved into. I went walking to the corner store just to get out of the house. I sat in front of a business on a bench, which technically isn't my property. I saw a vehicle driving real slow down the road as I sat on the bench for 20 minutes. I said i'm getting the fuck out of here. I turned around and saw a police car shine his light at a business down the road. I thought maybe I should walk faster, but that would be suspicious.

two or three cop cars were approaching behind me very slowly, I didn't stop because I had not done anything wrong. suddenly a white guy stopped and got out the car and said he needed to talk to me. He immediately grabbed my waist and said he's checking for weapons, that may be called a terry frisk which is allowed in texas I think. I said i'm going home and repeated my address many times.

There was an undercover man that popped out of some other car, I wondered was he the slow driving car I saw earlier. anyways, they said they were looking for a man at a business who was drunk and high. Then I thought of donald trump. I thought man are they sending undercover people in my medium-large texas city to arrest all the homeless people? he could have been a federal agent, ice agent, I don't know. but I walked home after that as the convoy homeless patrol units watched me creepily. I think I just live in a shitty area.
