This. I've been in the south six years now, and it's only economically dead towns that have a Piggly Wiggly from what I've seen, and they look just like every other D-tier grocery chain like (save-a-lot, IGA...).

One of these days when I have a few minutes I'd like to pull over and go inside just to be sure, but all the locations "near" me (closest one is like 30 miles away) look like the kind of places I avoid shopping on account of them being cheap/bad areas and therefore full of nigs and trashy whites.

Damn shame. The sight of that smiling pig stirs feelings of childlike joy in my bitter, jaded heart, and the pictures from the olden days of Piggly Wiggly look kino AF.

I'd love to see an example of a nice location in the modern day if someone can provide one.

Honestly We have two of these in town where I live. I rarely go to them but they're fucking everywhere in some capacity here in Wisconsin.

When I had to drive a couple hours to Green Bay I was so fucking relieved to see An actual family owned (non-chain) grocery store right off of i43

They're all kind of shit, even the "nice" ones. The only redeeming quality is they're convieniently placed in the middle of town and not on the outskirts like the big stores are (Walmart, Menards, Target, Home Depot, etc)
