FFXIV just isn't a very streamer friendly game unless you're catering to an audience of exclusively FFXIV fans. There's a ton of visual information you need to memorize to understand what's going on (icons, telegraphs etc), and it's not even uncommon to run into people in endgame dungeons that don't have a fucking clue that X animation means boss is going to do Y.

I think it's why her golden saucer (where she does all the mini games and stuff) have way more engagement than any other FFXIV streams she does. They're immediately readable by even someone who's never seen the game before and we can still laugh at her failing, cheer at her succeeding, and anyone that wants to snipe is free to join in on the shenanigans.

Like if I'm going to be completely honest (and no offense B), she's running casual level content with a casual skill level and attempting it in earnest. It's not really entertaining for FFXIV veterans, the indifferent, nor people that enjoy the game.

IMHO, it's like when Sam shows up at a fishtank house and he's just phoning it in while working out. Using the stream as an excuse to be doing something you wanted to get done in your off time.

It's a mix of things. Sure it's because Binx plays it. But I've been wanting a grindy game to sink my teeth into since quitting most of the other time wasters I played. I have a friend that poured 16-17 thousand hours into it so he's ecstatic that I'm giving it another chance after years of trying to get me on it. I've been skipping the cutscenes and dialogue too. I tend to do that in most games nowadays because I just can't be bothered to get into the lore. If I do feel like learning it, I can just look it up or ask my friend about it. If it grabs my interest I'll stop skipping. I usually dislike games in this sort of setting to begin with, which adds to me skipping everything. Not having voice acting for most of the dialogue is another big reason I can't be fucked. Isn't the main quest line considered long as fuck too? I'd rather not increase that length by reading or listening to lackluster voice acting. For now I'm just here to mindlessly kill shit.

Also in response to this, it's not that I dislike the travel streams and only want her cooped up in her room, but the trips are too long, are pretty repetitive, and in the case of Asia, on at a time that a lot of us should be sleeping/working.
If it wasn't for Cam (and will be the case for Julie for Japan), it would have been worse because she had things planned. You can't sleep 'til 4pm when everything closes at 6pm, then wander around until 10, cut the stream, and not have us speculate if you'd have gone to the KittyCat Club or similar if we weren't aware. lol
