I have extreme anxiety at night from CPSTD and can't ever fall asleep because of it, what do I do? I go to bed when there's 10 hours until my alarm goes off but I only ever get 2-3 hours of sleep. It's killing me, I can't get anything done during the day because I'm so tired. please hlep

relax all of your muscles, from head to toes, then breath deep so that your lung stretches out with your ribcage. in through your nose, then out through your mouth. you will be able to tell you are falling asleep because your thoughts will begin to become nonsensical- this is called hypnagogic hallucination and it is a normal process when falling asleep. at that point, allow the rest to come over you and you should fall asleep.

yeah bro, i'm sorry i can't help with the cptsd side, but maybe i can help with the resting side.

I talk to myself when I can’t sleep until I realize I am really talking to God

Iv got regular PTSD so not the best person to give advice but I found this pretty helpful. (The technique not the article)
https://www.ptsduk.org/progressive-muscle-relaxation/
Also playing something informative or interesting enough to occupy ur thoughts untill you fall asleep is very helpful.
Avoid drugs, I spent a long time trying to just knock myself out with cocktails of sleeping pills and benzos and it stopped me from learning how to get myself to fall asleep and as a side effect made me more anxious during the day and gave me rlly bad muscle aches.

I also can't sleep at night which is probably related to my CPTSD. I always either intensely work out right before bed, do a bunch of drugs to make me sleep, or jerk off to clear my head and then I pass out right after nutting.

Get 300 mg caffeine in the morning and no more during the day. Time it right and the crash will happen at bedtime

Terrible advice for someone likely struggling with hypervigilance and being on edge.

these are good techniques, or atleast similar things have helped me in the past
focusing on my toes, for a while, then working my way up

you could try to find some sort of ambience or white noise to listen to, it might keep you up but it could also clear your head & help with the anxiety atleast
i listen to these and read fiction, it often helps:

another guy with PTSD told me he puts on some show or movie he's very familiar with, and it can help him relax or clear his head

good luck OP

read physical books
not e-shit
not audio
but physical books

start an hour or two
before you want to be asleep
or longer until you learn how long its going to take to work for you

how does talking to god fix your sleep?

I always imagine I'm in my own world when I'm having trouble falling asleep. usually I'm out in the middle of nowhere in a cabin I built just chilling, probably with a relaxing thunderstorm in the background. works like a charm.

From another PTSD person. Everyone is being really kind and giving good advice. You love to see it, Anons.
