sorry to hear that. in our modern times knowledge is easy to get but hard to master. we have too many health workers with very little competent ones and even less that care to do a good job.

Ideally you want someone with years of experience and you also trust. Since we can't get the latter focus on real life people who serve as a evidence to their work

People will talk about different technologies, that is the least important thing. A person with expertise is more important, just don't get anything with mercury and you'll be fine.

the american diet is sugar rich. literally everything has sugar in it. even shit that's not supposed to be sweets. if you do not get yearly teeth cleanings, you will 100% get cavities. I only ever had 1 cavity as a kid because I got cleanings every 6 months, but when I became an adult and had to pay for it on my own, I went 6 years without a cleaning. figured if I flossed and brushed well it would be ok. I had like 5 cavities from that when I finally went in due to tooth sensitivity. no matter how good you flosh or brush you will get plaque buildup, and it's between the teeth so cavities form there. some spots are hard to keep a filling in good condition for years because it can get broken back off from eating. eventually it's just not worth the expense to keep building back up, so it's cheaper and less issue to just pull. I have all my teeth, but I know several people who had this happen. mostly people who don't have much money. tooth cleanings are retardedly expensive post-covid. everywhere around here is like $180 last I checked, and that was like 3 years ago. I'm doing the shit again of not going for years, but I don't eat candy, drink soda, and try to limit sugar since last time so hopefully it's not as bad. also, many people have problems with their teeth due to mouth breathing/snoring during sleep. it dries your teeth out. some people also just have rapid enamel loss genetically.

I got a dental implant last year after I broke a front tooth at the root. Root canal wasn't an option because the break was too low down. Was a lot of hassle with the surgery and costed around $7k USD for the one implant. Still for me it's worth it for not having a missing front tooth. I had to have two surgeries, one to extract the rest of the root and put in a bone graft substrate, and one to place the implant and a healing abutment. About 6 months later I had the crown placed.

Bone loss was a big deal they kept talking about for me, they did a ton of xrays, but I didn't have any problem with that apparently. It might for you, or it might matter less if you are getting a full set of teeth they can prob be more flexible about where they place the implants, whereas mine went in right where the extracted tooth had just been. Talk to your dentist or a specialist periodontist can give you a better idea of where you're at.

As to how it feels, long term effects, I've just had it for a year. It doesn't feel like a natural tooth, but no pain or weird feeling, just no sensation. Apparently it's at least as strong as a normal tooth, and if it does ever crack or fuck up they can just take it off and chuck another crown on there like a tire change. When it happened I first asked my dentist what he would do if he were in my position and he said 100% implant.

No pain or anything weird but need to be diligent flossing and brushing (I already was) as any gum infection can fuck your shit up quick if bacteria gets into the implant sites. Took a long time to get a good match with my natural teeth going back and forth with the labs, again prob won't apply to you if you're getting all the same substance. I went for e.max btw. Good luck hope this info helps.

I had an adult tooth that grew in sideways and never made the baby tooth lose, they attempted to use my braces to straighten it and pull it by attaching chain to the main braces but the gap made the braces less strong. Also I was young so I fidgeted with it a lot.

Once they gave up on the tooth, they extracted it and implanted titanium implant.
I was a total dumbass and smoked weed a ton the semester after cuz of college girls but I think that introduced anaerobic bacteria that ate up some bone and caused chronic infection (pus would regularly come out if I squeezed). This may have happened naturally though as it can happen regardless.

My dentist couldn't even explain what was happening he thought I grinded my teeth and thats why I lost bone (retarded). I saw a periodontist out of my own volition and he agreed I was right about infection.

I have since waterpicked every single day but I actually blasted a pocket open and I think the chronic infection is gone. Only problem is, the screw pole is a bit exposed so food gets in there and I have to floss obsessively.

I went back to periodontist and he said that skin missing is actually good and allows for easier cleaning and less bacteria hiding and estimated I will get another 10 years at least out of implant as im not losing bone anymore and screw is still firm.

This was my experience but periodontist said most implants fail but usually older people get them and they die before the implant would fail, ill probably need one more before my 50s and then never again.

Getting a tooth pulled is worse than getting the stud inserted into your jaw. Whether it is worth the cost is entirely subjective and up to you, but I wouldn’t be at all concerned with the actual procedure, other than checking the infection rates for the place that is doing it. If they don’t have better than industry averages (under 3%) for patients that need treatment for infections past the initial antibiotics they give, seriously do not use them.

i know you are being facetious, but you should tell this feller what can happen when screwed are drilled into jawbone:

Implant instability / failure to achieve primary stability
Poor osseointegration (failure of bone to fuse with implant)
Wound dehiscence (gums don’t close properly over implant site)
Prolonged pain or swelling
Acute sinusitis (if maxillary sinus involved)
Foreign body reaction
Peri-implant mucositis (gum inflammation around implant)
Peri-implantitis (progressive bone loss and infection around implant)
Chronic sinusitis (from implant migration or sinus involvement)
Implant migration / displacement (into sinus, nasal cavity, or soft tissues)
Marginal bone loss (around implant neck)
Overloading and bone resorption (if biting forces exceed capacity)
Poor angulation esthetic or functional issues

Nerve pain syndromes (persistent paresthesia, dysesthesia, neuralgia)

Implant fracture (rare, but can happen under excessive load)

Abutment screw loosening or fracture

Crown or prosthesis fracture

Occlusal overload leading to bone loss or failure

Osteomyelitis of the jaw (severe infection spreading into bone)

Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) in patients on bisphosphonates, denosumab, or chemotherapy

Implant-related foreign body sensation

I've been without one of my molars (6-th tooth lower right jaw) for about a year.
It was annoying at first but now I'm used to it, but the idea of bone thinning still worries me.
From what I know it's easier and a lot safer to install implants in the lower jaw (more bone material, no chance to puncture into the sinus cavity etc).

I'm also considering laser eye corrective surgery for myopia but the side effects some people have will drive me mad if I end up with them afterwards.

There was a fad in the 1960s(?, maybe just in the UK) of getting all your teeth removed and implants put in. I think regrets were had.

I have had major work done and have several implants.

At first they felt awful. Ut felt like a foreign object in my mouth... but around a week later it started to feel normal and in 2 weeks I had no pain in my mouth unless I do 2 things:

Very cold drinks cause a little pain. Very hot drinks cause a sharp pain.

Overall I am thankful I could do the work the utility of eating everything normally again outweighs the cons.

Also do not do the cheap shit like mexico/turkey they will fuck up.

Re: mouth/sinus infections, tea tree oil is gods gift to mankind. It’s actually top fucking tier when it comes to decimating bacteria, viruses, fungus, etc, and according to a study done during COVID, it exponentially outperformed alcohol, iodine, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and more, killing 99.99999% of the samples nearly instantly, while the products it was compared to took as long as 5 minutes to achieve the same effect.

If you’re able to handle it, one can apply tea tree oil directly to any given wound, even if it’s not an open wound as it seems to absorb well into the skin. Most people dilute it when their oil of choice, coconut/mct being my recommendation. Sore throat? Spray a bit to paint the back of your throat. Abscess? Use a Q-tip to apply several times daily until the pus drains, then continue for several more days. Also works great as deodorant, killing off the odor causing bacteria so as to need less deodorant in the future(note: can’t help you with sweat though). Put a few drops in your shampoo to keep dandruff under control, as well as the parasites that cause baldness. Few drops in your body wash as well.

I remember some orthodentist guy a few years back was trying his absolute hardest to convince me to have dental surgery in order to install a metal wire in my right side jawbone so I could straighten out the right lower side of my teeth. He told me if I dont that entire row of teeth will be fucked up by the time I turn 50. Told him I dont plan to live that long and that I am not having surgery and foreign object implants because of a couple of croocked teeth. Said this rather loudly in hearing distance of his all-female staff and several waiting patients. The short fuck looked at me like I called his whore mother a prostitute or something

Tea tree oil also does help quite a bit with pain, but clove oil does a far better job, and does provide some antiseptic qualities, but not nearly what tea tree oil can provide. Combine both treatments if you’re in horrific pain, and take ibuprofen every 4hrs until the swelling etc is under control.

this, my mother had her front teeth knocked out when she was a teenager because some idiot (female) classmate raised her hockey stick in a pass
fast-forward 40 years and she needed bone grafts to reinforce her upper jaw so the implants would bind properly, took about 2 years for the whole process.

I'd get implants if I were you. Eating food is more enjoyable. Just remember to floss all the time, or after every meal. Flossers cost less than a nickel. Would you rather spend 60 bucks on a whole year's worth of flossers or would you rather spend 2-5 grand per tooth? I learned about decay the hard way and changed my habits if I wanted to keep the other teeth, I go for checkups every half year.

I cured my myopia naturally, through years of vision training. Glasses are one of the biggest fuckups in mankind's history. There's a reason you squint when you struggle to see things. The muscles around your eyes control its focus. When people have good vision, those muscles are tightly in control. That is why when people get old they lose both their near and far vision. Both examining something very close to your eye, like a book, and something very far, like a target, require well trained vision. Many people are deficient at one or the other and this is usually due to lack of practice. For example, if you are like most modern Westerners, you spend up to 16 hours a day using your eyes on things that are very close, such as a book, and you don't spend a single hour a day using your eyes on things that are far away, like a target. Do what you can to change this ratio and your eyes will adapt to the tasks you engage them in. A very large number of westerners have been convinced that improving your vision naturally is impossible, and the unfortunate reality is that glasses severely damage peoples' social skills.
