Was it at least fun? Sometimes my fucked up dreams are fun even if they are scary. But most of the time they are just disturbing. The other week I had one where my ex was frying my birb alive on a teppanyaki table in butter and every time id get my poor birbs feet unstuck from the grill she would fly off in a panic but land back on the grill because it was the highest point in the room because it was really tall and close to the ceiling and when budgies are scared they go to the highest point. My poor birb was getting more and more burnt and closer to dying and there was nothing I could do. In general, i draw while referencing the art id like to emulate, which is the 2000s moe/visual novel style. I study aspects of the art i'd want in my work, things from highlights to eye shape to hands. What ill do is draw A LOT throughout the day, spanning months, till i gain muscle memory, and have a good understanding of what i want to draw and how to do so. I had to switch from doodling in autopilot mode in my comfort zone to trying out new styles i like while making the effort to really think about what im doing and why, basically.
Over the past months, ive had to work on making my lines neater, anatomy reasonably correct, and figure out the basics of lighting. Think of basic shapes with different kinds of lighting over them (cylinders, rectangles, cones, etc) and combine those forms to be able to shade more complex shapes.
As for that chibi doodle style, i keep the head large and add minimal folds to clothing, maybe some highlights if needed to the hair as well. I se both regular and beady eyes, whichever i feel like drawing. To scribble in that blue ink, i sketched very lightly with a blue bic pen, putting more pressure where darker blues would go

This kinda came out looking like stewie from family guy which is not what I wanted at all lol. My eyes are kinda droopy like this but I can't draw anime/manga eyes. I also have dark circles under them so maybe do something similar to tomoko from watamote. Also my hair is a lot darker than this, almost black but it looked stupid in paint so I just made it brown. My hair is also curly.
And the shape of my glasses is much more like the first image, these are too round.
Just draw in ur usual style as that's pretty much exactly what I was trying to achieve but i have no idea how.
