Who is ready to talk about energy?
Firstly.....ai:
>will it succeed and require massive energy inputs
>will it fail and require massive energy inputs
>how to profit from that
Secondly.....green scam:
>its over, what will be the fallout
>its not over, who fucking knows when
Thirdly......war:
>more war
>less war
The military will never stop using "fossil" fuels. They might say they will, but they won't, because they aren't that fucking retarded.

UUUU is up 2x in a month, 5x in six months. Tattoo head Red was balls deep in that iirc, but nobody else talks about them cuz I think we all missed that boat.
NatGas and crude are crabbing sideways at a price floor that's held for weeks. I definitely don't feel as confident about energy now as I did in the bear market of 2022 when I was buying ofs. Idk, maybe smart, for me, to roll slowly into divvy paying blue chip mega oil like Exxon while taking profits in this commodity bull.
The crack baby in me wants to gamble still tho.

Another win as usual. Cheap bid but not surprising since the management was very incentivized to sell the company, they get many millions in change of control fees. If the project was owned by a better management team this stock could have been worth more but I'm happy with my gains. More than doubled my money. Reminds me of the Lumina Gold takeunder but that one left me feeling insulted, this time I was expecting it.

Guess the cure to low prices is low prices. What confuses me is that if US oil production has been increasing then why have exports been steadily decreasing all year? July 25 exports this year were 3520mbpd, a decline of 743kbpd from last year. Do we reach 3m by year end?

$6bn for Pinyon Plain and two pre-construction titanium sands projects halfway around the world (one of which they don't own, and just have an earn-in entitlement). Almost as crazy as UEC, $7.5bn for 26k lbs of production in a full year at their first restart..
Meanwhile Global Atomic costs $230m canadian funbucks for 68m lbs of good grades with experienced African labour to dig it up for pennies on the dollar. Also a free 49% stake in a profitable zinc recycler in Turkey.

>Almost as crazy as UEC, $7.5bn for 26k lbs of production in a full year at their first restart..
These trendy US-based shitcos get a LOT of goodwill from the market. I guess American exceptionalism, piss easy access to credit, and a general lack of understanding of the commodity sector can lead to some hilarious market overvaluations. Imagine if Canadian stocks regularly traded at such valuations.
I'm not too up to date with UEC, don't they have multiple projects? What was their current restart's rate of production supposed to be?

UEC were very careful to only ever talk about "maximum licensed capacity" in the millions of lbs at Christensen Ranch rather than give production forecasts. Now it's obvious why.
They have a long list of shitty ISR fields in Wyoming that stitch together to an impressive enough total resource, plus a defunct mill that Rio were desperate to sell. Roughrider in Canada is a good project but mid for the Athabasca and doesn't come close to justifying the company's valuation. They need to raise so much money to build even a fraction of their projects, there are no revenues to do it organically. Naturally the CEO just announced they're going to be an enricher next after having conquered mining.

Kenmare Resources getting slammed again this morning. Titanium market is weak and one of their customers couldnt take deliveries due to financial distress (probably Chinese). Hopefully making these big sustaining cap investments now pays off in a few years when the marginal producers tighten up and new projects get pushed back.

thanks for the update. I read their report but they avoided mentioning product pricing. Will have to wait for financial results from mineral sands producers to get a better handle on current market prices. Iluka reported in their H1 presentation that rutile prices were at US$1,519/t vs US$1,694/t in FY2024. Synthetic rutile prices are slighly lower than that and ilmenite producers like Kenmare get much much lower prices for their product. By the way, Iluka is shuttering their Cataby mine and the accompanied synthetic rutile kiln 2 in December until pricing improves, citing weakness in demand and ample inventories to sustain current customer demand.
Seems like there is already a supply response to the low market prices ongoing. I hope the market is better for Kasiya once Sovereign commissions it in a few years. If not, other higher cost producers will have to move aside

I looked at Barchart on Bocana and if you've bought 2 million shares as you claim, you're about 2/3 of the volume for the stock today, assuming Barchart is accurate. I hope it pays off for you but it reminds me of this story:
A client called his broker inquiring about egg futures and is quoted a price of 25 cents per contract. Having a hunch about the egg market he buys 100 contracts. A week later he calls his broker to get a quote. Pleased to learn that the price of eggs has risen to 35 cents he decides to buy another 1,000 contracts. A few days later, eager to check on the progress of his investment, he is amazed to learn that the price has now risen to 50 cents per contract, twice the price he paid for his original 100 contracts. Sensing a trend, he steps it up, this time buying 100,000 contracts. The next day, ecstatic to learn that egg prices have now risen to 65 cents, he gets even more aggressive, buying 1,000,000 contracts. Sure enough, the following day the price of eggs rises to 95 cents, prompting him to order an additional million contracts. The day after that, as rising prices further validate his intuition, he buys yet another million contracts, this time paying $1.25.
The next day, with egg contracts trading at $1.75, he senses that the market has risen too far too fast, and places an order to sell 2,000,000 contracts. After a pregnant pause his broker replies, “Sell to whom, you’re the egg man???.

Yes.
Honestly, I'm not great at valuing mining companies and all of the technical stuff, but I know the basics and I trade on sentiment a lot of the time. This company was extremely tiny market cap and they are in the process of buying this project in Arizona and assays are pending.
I didn't expect them to announce an additional potentially massive project even before assays on Arizona were released.
ai summary:
Arizona placer (LOI): ~1,440 acres of near-surface alluvial gold; verification assays pending. If grid/sonic drilling + bulk samples confirm grade continuity & recoveries, it’s a potential low-capex, modular operation worth billions.
Colorado exposure (Venture Gold, via JV): Bocana formed Arizore LLC (50/50 JV) with access to up to US$60M in project-level loans (Bocana as operator) and an LOI to invest up to US$20M into a historic Colorado district—gives scale without heavy parent-level dilution
Also they have this deal in Bolivia which is still on the table but on hold.

I don't know, either. The first time I heard this story was when Peter Schiff used it to describe what Michael Saylor is doing with Bitcoin and setting up Microstrategy as a Bitcoin depository or whatever bullshit name it is to poorly disguise the Ponzi scheme that it is.
In our Canadian friend's case, even if he already owned 1 million shares earlier, his buying 1 million shares today is about 25% of the volume for the day so far. I hope the stock does well because if it doesn't, liquidity is very low with daily volume typically being under 1 million shares a day.
Just three months ago, the stock was trading a $0.005 USD a share, $0.0035 CAD). Anyone who bought at that price would be up 35x - 40x today. :) If I owned shared at half a penny, I would sell enough to have claimed at least 4x my original cost basis and let the rest ride.

I am in hevi / helium evolution, a random helium explorer that just turned producer a week ago. Most helium explorers on the Canadian exchanges are lifestyle scams but this one is partnered with North America Helium, which is a private company, and the largest helium producer in Canada, as well as Eneos, a Japanese oil and gas co. Aside from the now incoming revenue that will be reflected in future financials they are also doing some more exploratory work this fall/winter. I think it's the only company I hold that hasn't pumped yet, despite having some positive newsflow over the last year or two.
I'm also considering buying spanish mountain gold because they have a significant resource and haven't pumped this metal run, although they are more of a shitco so who knows how it'll end up.

I have one steaming pile of poo called Royal Road Minerals (RRDMF). It's doubled over the past month but it's still down 50% from when I bought it at $0.32 four years ago. I bought a small position (thankfully) because William Fleckenstein spoke highly of this stock. It's been a huge catastrophe as far as I can tell. It's a small enough position for me that I'm going to sink with the ship. It'll either somehow start making money and I'll eventually make a whole number multiple of my invested capital or, more likely, it's going to go to zero.

I will never understand this kind of mentality. You think you made a mistake investing in the stock, you think the stock is going to go down, the market had given you an opportunity to sell at a much smaller loss than before, and yet you hold. You could sell those shares and invest the money into something you actually want to own.

It was a very small percentage of my investable assets (maybe 0.02%) and it's not worth taking the loss because the funds raised would not be enough to do something useful in a better quality position. For what it's worth, I also own shares of equities such as Wesdome where the prices fell more than 50% from my first purchase price and I've now more than doubled my investment.
Royal Road was highly speculative but I didn't think it would be almost straight down non-stop from where I bought it. Even ignoring the current bull run in mining equities, things are looking up for the company but after almost five years of disappointments, I'm wary.

In a sense, yes. I might lose a $100 if I let the position go to zero but it would not necessarily be easy for me to find a position where I can turn that $100 into $200 without a lot of risk and volatility. Royal Road isn't guaranteed to go to zero and it's something of a lottery ticket. If I moved the proceeds from a sale into something that I think is safe, I might turn the $100 into $115 dollars after a few years. I have a large enough portfolio that I'm willing to roll the dice on certain positions recovering and becoming profitable or breaking even. Royal Road fits that category but in the meantime I really hate how poorly the company has done.
I really only mentioned the company because someone asked for people to post their worst stocks. I was curious if anybody else is being tortured by Royal Road.
Years ago, I got massacred on New Gold and was down 78%. I didn't sell, doubled down, and am now up 350%. I could have sold but as horrible as the company was executing, I felt there was something there and I didn't see a better place to put the capital. I had lost enough that it really wasn't worth taking the loss and trying to find something better that could make up the losses in a reasonable amount of time.

Polish online bullion dealers have now long delays between order and realizing order. Didn't check if there are queues in front of dealer shops in my city yet.
I don't see any increase in debates about silver miners or gold miners. Physical is the main topic. People still asleep on miners here judging by lack of discussion online. It's still a niche topic.

>the Permian peaking
it's more of a plateau. "Peak" gives this false impression of a sudden drop, in reality there is going to be a longer topping process and then decades of slowly falling production. So far US shale has managed to elude predictions of a top, it will come at some point but there won't be a shocking drop unless the prices do a covid again. Anyways while US shale will probably find some kind of top in the months or years ahead there will still be a lot of value for decades in the best consolidated acres
>are we really gonna see an offshore boom in OIL once prices start going up again?
After most of the consolidations are out of the way I would expect the attention to turn offshore. Right now there is historically speaking very little exploration being done thanks in large part to shale. Most exploration capex today is spent offshore as shale and oil sands are derisked and well understood so no need to explore there, and conventional discoveries haven't been keeping up with production since before the shale boom so conventional discoveries have mostly been depleted. Meaningful offshore discoveries have already been made in recent years in Guyana, Brazil, Cote d'Ivoire, South Africa, Namibia and other places. There's also great potential for major onshore shale oil development in the Middle East whenever they feel like pursuing that avenue seriously, and China's vast kerogen deposits could turn out to be feasible sources of oil if prices or technology improve enough. There are also vast yet underutilized reserves and resources in Canadian/Venezuelan oil sands, Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale, and Alaska (note: the US National Petroleum Reserve)
>So my question is am I gonna make bank buying offshore drillers and engineers?
I want to say yes but OFS isn't my strong suit, and I think OFS companies have a poor long term track record for some reason.

It's a name loved by all oil sands operators. Without Trans Mountain, Western Canadian Select would be deep in the shitter again. The TM Expansion project couldn't have come at a better time, now the oil sands producers can grow for a while again without destroying the WCS differential like what happened in 2017 and 2018 when the discount to WTI went below $20 and $30 respectively

oh this again!
Trans Mountain was getting fined left and right for brown water puddles coming off the work and the little land slides of mud coming off the ditches. It was bonkers, every little brown spot of wet ground was getting a fine.

The salamanders do that too up on the main line forest service roads, loggers have to stop and hire a guy to scoop up the frog / salamander spawn and move it to a safer pool or face fines. There is a full time job too with the provincial government to count frog spawning sites.

Chinchillas cost me 25k in unrealized losses back in 2022-2023.
I ended up making it out ok thought because I lowered my share cost down significantly and it turned into one of my biggest winners.

I sure am.
I hope it keeps rising.
Waiting on assays, fingers crossed.
Every time it goes up 5 cents I make $106k CAD.
This is the most money I've ever made in my life.

They were assayed before by a team of geologists and they were quite good.
The new drilling is just confirming those assays.
