Spaghetti Tuesday + bant /ck/ general
Was too sick to do the thread the other week but its back now. Due to low participation in the weekly spaghetti festivities and the fact that there isn't a cooking banter thread up iv combined the two so feel free to post/discuss anything food related here but pls do participate in spaghetti tuesday if you are able :)

I ate Sauerkraut(fermented cabbage) with tomato sauce and Tofu cubes one of the previous times you made the spaghetti tuesday thread, but I was too shy to post a photograph of my meal or reply to the thread.
Anyway I was thinking about quitting 4chan anyway, I am just wondering what motivates you to organize and promote things like spaghetti tuesday?
I understand it's a nice thing that you are trying to promote a comforting tolerant community culture on this board, but I don't understand what makes you put in the effort despite the low participation rates.
You come across as a nice well meaning person, but I don't understand how you can keep going with this despite the discouraging low participation rates.
It's like you make a newspaper ad for happy community celebration day every week, sitting there with your festive head and prepared meals, on a set table, but no one ever shows up, week after week.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your consistent good will, human warmth and niceness, but I don't understand what keeps you going despite disappointing participation.
Also this message is not meant to get up your hopes that I will participate your threads in the future, as I want to quit 4chan, but I still think you are a nice person and your effort is coming from a good place.

Well just count that as spaghetti xD
>>23452951
dont feel shy. its (pseudo)anonymous anyway. I get that ur wanting to quit 4chan so I won't write anything to encourage ur participation as anyone attempting to leave this place and better themself always has my full support.
The reason I keep making the threads despite the abysmally low participation rates is because 1. Its very minimal effort for me to do so as I spend most of my time pissing my life away on this site anyway and 2. Even though people dont always participate i really enjoy interacting with those that do even if they just drop by to say hi :)

hello, fellas.
I have a 900 g pack each of spaghetti & rotini & about 900 or 800 g of beef (idk I can't eyeball it) and I'm not sure what dish to make with them.
It feels absurd to make food while I have leftover in the fridge but fuck it

I'm only using a trip because i knew i would have to go outside to do some shit and have to post from kuroba while out meaning my ID would change.
These threads don't get many replies so I didn't wanna just leave it open on my puter and potentially miss someones reply and dissuade them from taking part by not responding in a timely manner.
Macaroni pies are delicious its a shortcrust pastry case with gooey extra cheesy macaroni inside with a layer of baked cheese on top, its in pie form so you can eat it on the go mostly I think but the crunchy pastry with the gooey mac is a nice combo. You could make them yourself you'd just need to get some proper cheddar which I'm not sure is easy to find in Argentina and there's some mustard powder in the sauce to compliment the cheese flavour.

Going to be using some colourful spegdy. It would probably look nicer if I just did an aglio e olio but I will be adding some extra stuff to a jarred tomato and mascapone sauce

gahdahng wish i could getsmesumdat, but i would feel like a guilty fatass after eating that...

yeh, i can makes me sumodat. the only think stopping me is my poor baking skills. i cant be bothered making any more attempts at baking until i take a formal class or someone teaches me...
the best i can do is make cantucci and savoiardi. i dont think flan counts, but i definitelycan make that without it turning into a rock to stone an infidel. oh and budín.

heres this weeks spgty. I just fried some garlic and then threw in some rosemary, concentrated tomato puree and the jarred sauce, also added some parmesan, Cheddar and grana pedano to make sorta tomatoey 3 cheese type deal (4 if u count the mascapone that was already in the sauce).

Kurobaex. It works fine but yeah the dev abandoned it nearly 2 years ago.
>but would feel like a guilty fatass after eating that
Yeah its very unhealthy, I dont eat them very often tho so its fine as a treat, I usually just eat one meal a day'
>poor baking skills
As far as pastry goes shortcrust is the easiest one but you could always get the premade stuff. You need to blind bake it before adding the filling so its already starting to get crispy so the mac won't make it soggy.
Its not particularly hard if you can bake the stuff you mentioned you should be able to manage. Its making a really good macaroni that most of the effort goes into.

I think you over did it with this one. Dunno, i dont really like spaghetti. The last time I made any, was about last year i think. i am more of a bucatini kind of person.

Maybe a little, it was very cheesy. bucatini is nice its annoying when they split lengthwise when cooking though.

Scotties prolly asleep, but here's the din for 2nite.

Lame ass noodles with pork, cabbage, onions, and garlic. Not proud of it because i overcooked the cabbage a bit and noodles bcuz my katze thought now was the time for attention and started climbing onto my pants digging its claws into my skin cuz the pants are thin.

I got some chicken hearts marinating since this morning. So thats fer toomarruh.

currently debating between spaghetti & rotini
Also the amount of beef I thawed is wayyyyy more than I need.
I knew I should've separated them into smaller portions before freezing.
I'll just make I larger serving but it probably won't turn out pretty.

nice, what sort of fish curry? have you ever had monkfish curry? Its got a nice firm texture so it goes well in stuff thats slow cooked without disintegrating.

so the reason why my photos are so dark is be cause the kitchen lights haven't worked for many years. The bulbs aren't even in but here we go, le ragu.
I didn't make enough spaghetti so I left it in the pot and threw it in the fridge with the leftover spaghetti in a container on it's own, not sure if that's safe.
I liked how it tasted.

I didn't realize that the cheese was getting clumped up in the grater instead of falling like it should've but it's whatever.
This is something I want to try again in the future. Hopefully I can find oregano & basil next time

apparently the tomato paste I used can only be refrigerated for 3 days... I'm not going to use it all in 3 days

This will probably sound sacrilege to some, but I plan to just bake the chicken hearts on a stick inside an oven so I can do other stuff meanwhile.

I have also pan fried the chicken hearts with onions and peppers and mix it all up with some pasta.

If its the kind that's in a tube like toothpaste it stays pretty sterile even after opening and keeps for months in the fridge. they just are lying to sell more and cover their asses. If its a can you have to use it up because its exposed to air and will go bad.
>>23457671
>>23457688
That sounds delicious, tomato based pasta dishes can get a bit tiresome so i understand you wanting something different. I was going to suggest an aglio olio with seared lemon chicken but saw you are already making something simillar :)
