I doubt the temperature of the beer had anything to do with it. its possible the beer could've been contaminated with something, its only really possible for anything to live in it if it had a very low alcohol content though.

I guess I started and still do it for the same reason as the old men. a lot of people do it as a social thing. it's like a cheap portable hookah. though the tobacco is unfavoured and a much lower quality. I do notice the tobacco quality in cigarettes goes down the less developed the country. lucky strikes I had in the US are god teir, the ones in japan a just as good, the ones in korea are okay and the ones in china a basically unsmokeable, the one's in indonesia are decent though.

if the fever is high enough to bother you just take some acetominophen. if its possible to just tolerate it then that's best as it is how ur body fights the infection.
if you start coughing then the deal with cough supressants is the same, best to not take them but if the coughing is stopping you sleeping or making your throat very sore take a couch supressant like dextromethorphan or pholcodeine/codeine.
drink plenty of hot liquids and try to eat plain wholesome foods.
